Since the establishment of its international bureau, JERI has conducted many studies on developing and transitional countries, in fields such as industrial development, promotion of small- and medium-sized enterprises and development finance, mainly as projects commissioned by the World Bank, Japan International Cooperation Agency, and the Japanese Government. The studies focus on Asian countries, including Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam. JERI makes recommendations on improvement measures, capacity development measures and so forth based on assessment of the current environment of the country.
