JERI, the Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) and the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) jointly organized Study Tour Program on SME and Development Finance, held in Japan in November 2006. ADFIAP is an association of development banks and other financial institutions engaged in development finance in the Asia-Pacific region. It has 103 members in 40 countries and its headquarter is located in Manila, the Philippines.
Through lectures and a visit to SMEs in central Tokyo, the study tour provided eight participants from six financial institutions exposure to Japanese best practices on SME/development financing. The progam showcased current approaches and strategies on various issues that confront SME/development financing and provided a platform for exchanging views and ideas on SME/development issues.
